Cindy Carpenter-Smith

Cindy is a furniture and interior designer who understands the importance of knowing how a piece of furniture works inside and out. While leading design at Nemschoff, she saw a demand for someone with technical furniture design expertise and an interior design mindset. This inspired her to start Carpenter-Smith Southwest (CSSW) in 2002.

For Cindy, it’s all about the details. From craftsmanship to how a piece functions and makes you feel, Cindy pays attention to every detail and works closely with her clients to ensure the choices they make go beyond how a piece looks. Her experience on both the manufacturing and design sides of the business allow her to play an integral role in customizing pieces to meet the client’s precise specifications.

Cindy is proud to represent premier lines of furnishings including HALCON, HBF/HBF Textiles, HighTower, Nemschoff, and SitOnIt/Ideon enabling CSSW to ensure their clients have access to the best products in the industry. From technical specifications to form, function and design elements, her team is extremely knowledgeable about the full range of each manufacturer’s products.

Cindy has a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from Texas Christian University. She enjoys traveling all over the world, great design, great food and surrounding herself with family and friends.

Colby Register

This graduate of the University of Alabama is the newest member of the Carpenter-Smith Southwest team! His industry experience and dynamic work style bring a fresh approach to solving client challenges in efficient and creative ways. As part of a military household, Colby lived in Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. Colby credits his curiosity and adaptability to growing up in varied environments, and for nurturing his desire to always look for unique ways to solve client problems.

A self-described foodie, Colby is passionate about discovering new eateries, music venues and places to travel. He enjoys making new connections and forging long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with clients in different industries.

Jessica Courter

Recently married, sorry guys…. Jessica studied fashion marketing at the University of Central Oklahoma and is ready to apply her love of design to furniture.  She has been working behind the scenes and has quickly learned all the basics of specification, pricing, construction and even assembly. Recently, Jessica dipped her toes into sales and now calls on some of the newest and upcoming firms in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area as well as Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Growing up in a rural area near Enid, Oklahoma Jessica is now exploring all that DFW has to offer. She enjoys reading, golfing, shooting and especially the restaurants in the area she now calls home.

Kristin Barnhart

Kristin enjoyed a brief six-year retirement from the industry, but now she’s back and part of the Carpenter-Smith Southwest team.  With over 27 years of experience in both dealer and manufacturer representative positions, Kristin adds not only client support but also knowledge of product and industry.  She is very attentive to detail and construction of products as well as inquisitive when it comes to customization and application.

Mother to a United States Air Force Academy graduate, Kristin enjoys playing golf, gardening and cooking.  Originally from the Dallas area, she now resides in Northwest Arkansas and will be working remotely to enhance the Carpenter-Smith experience.
